Cool and heat your home on solar
A reverse-cycle split system is the most efficient way to both cool and heat a home and when it runs on the solar you generate during the day, the running cost drops close to nothing. SolarAide installs high-efficiency reverse-cycle air conditioning sized to each room, so you’re not paying to cool space you don’t use.
It’s also a smart step toward an all-electric home: reverse-cycle air conditioning rebate Victoria and Melbourne replaces gas heating with clean, efficient electricity you can power from your own roof.
Rebate available: eligible upgrades can attract a Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) rebate. SolarAide installs your system and arranges the VEU rebate through a registered VEU Accredited Provider, so you get the discount without the paperwork.
Why go reverse-cycle with SolarAide
Cooling and heating in one
A single reverse-cycle system handles summer cooling and winter heating — more efficient than running separate units.
Runs on your solar
Use it through the day on your own solar and the running cost drops to almost nothing.
Sized per room
We calculate the right capacity for each space rather than guessing — no under- or over-sized units.
Rebate arranged for you
Eligible upgrades get the VEU rebate, arranged through a registered VEU Accredited Provider.
How the VEU rebate works with SolarAide
The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program offers discounts on eligible energy-efficient upgrades, including high-efficiency air conditioning. Under the program, the rebate must be delivered by a registered VEU Accredited Provider.
SolarAide is your installer we design, supply and fit the system. To make sure you still get the rebate, we arrange it through a registered VEU Accredited Provider, who handles the accredited side of the program while we coordinate everything for you. That keeps it one smooth process from quote to install to discount.
Straight up: SolarAide is your installer, not a VEU Accredited Provider. The VEU rebate is delivered under the program by a registered VEU Accredited Provider — we simply arrange it for you so the discount comes off without extra hassle.
Is reverse-cycle right for your home?
Reverse-cycle makes the most sense if you want efficient cooling and heating from one system, you’re moving away from gas heating, or you already have (or plan to add) solar to run it cheaply during the day. Options range from a single split system for one room to a multi-head setup covering several rooms from one outdoor unit we’ll recommend what fits your layout and usage.
Pairing it with a 6.6 kW or larger solar system is where the running cost really drops, since the daytime cooling and heating comes straight off your roof.

Frequently asked questions
Does SolarAide handle the VEU rebate?
We install your system and arrange the VEU rebate for you through a registered VEU Accredited Provider. You get the discount without dealing with the paperwork yourself.
How much can I save running it on solar?
Because a reverse-cycle system is highly efficient, running it during the day on your own solar brings the cooling and heating cost close to nothing. Pairing it with a 6.6 kW or larger system is where the savings are biggest.
Can one system heat and cool the whole house?
A multi-head system runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit to cover multiple rooms, or a ducted option can do the whole home. We’ll size the right solution for your layout during the site visit.
Will you remove my old unit?
Yes. Licensed installation and removal of your old unit are included, so there’s nothing left for you to arrange.
Is reverse-cycle better than gas heating?
For most homes, yes — reverse-cycle heating is far more efficient than gas and runs on electricity you can generate yourself with solar, which is why it’s a key step toward an all-electric home.
